Terms of Service

By accessing or using Downstream Lens (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Continued use after a change to the Terms constitutes acceptance of the change.

Downstream Lens is an AI-powered research tool that takes a user-submitted macro-economic hypothesis and generates a multi-layer impact graph using a large language model, including identification of public and private companies that may be affected. The Service also runs on-demand AI agents (Evaluator, Red Team, Deep Research) against individual nodes in the generated graph.

The Service is provided for research and educational purposes only. Nothing produced by the Service constitutes investment, financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice, or a recommendation, solicitation, or offer to buy, sell, or hold any security or other financial instrument.

All graph contents, including company names, ticker symbols, predicted price movements, magnitudes, time horizons, and analyst stances, are generated by a large language model and may contain errors, hallucinations, fabricated tickers, or outdated information. Stock prices are sourced from third-party feeds, may be delayed or stale, and may not reflect the current market.

You alone are responsible for any financial decision you make. You should verify every claim against primary sources and consult a licensed financial advisor before acting on anything you see in the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the paid features of the Service. By creating an account you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it accurate. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You may not share your account or transfer it to any third party.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or any connected systems or networks.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network, or breach any security or authentication measures.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest content from the Service other than through documented public-facing surfaces.
• Use the Service to generate or distribute content that is misleading, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise unlawful.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs without prior written permission.
• Use automated means to interact with the Service in a manner that creates an unreasonable load on infrastructure.

Some features of the Service are paid. Pricing is displayed on the Service before purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and are subject to Stripe's terms of service.

Purchased credits do not expire and remain available on your account (or anonymous device session, in the case of pay-as-you-go) until consumed or until the underlying record reaches its retention TTL, whichever is sooner.

Unused credits are refundable for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase. To request a refund, contact support@downstreamlens.com. Credits that have already been consumed (graph generation or agent run completed) are non-refundable.

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and aggregated outputs, is the property of the operator or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any hypothesis text you submit. You grant the operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and display your inputs and the resulting outputs solely to provide and improve the Service.

Content generated by the underlying language model is not copyrighted by the operator and is provided to you for your use under these Terms. You should not assume any output is original or fact-checked.

Outputs are produced by a large language model. They may be inaccurate, outdated, biased, or fabricated. The operator does not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for the accuracy of any output. You agree not to rely on any output as the sole basis for any decision.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The operator may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and is not liable for any loss caused by service interruption.

The operator may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR THE ABSENCE OF ERRORS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR INVESTMENT VALUE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. THE OPERATOR'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO THE OPERATOR IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operator from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that jurisdiction, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

The operator may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
